Back in the 90’s…

Back in the 90’s…when I was in elementary school I wanted to dress like the older girls.  This is one of the styles I always wanted to wear but by the time I was old enough to it wasn’t cool anymore!  I can’t believe it’s finally back in style and I’m old enough to wear it now…hehe 🙂

Since reaching the big 3-0 last year, I sometimes feel weird wearing things that show too much skin so I like having the white baby tee underneath.  I added the denim jacket to this look for 3 reasons: 1) gives an extra 90’s look 2) adds a pop of color and 3) comes in handy when there is a chill in the air.

I love putting looks together so here are three that I came up with!  Hope you see one you like! 🙂

Antler Fringe Cardigan

Finally getting to blog again and I couldn’t be more excited! 🙂  I’ve spent so many hours working on getting my site updated that I’ve been too exhausted to do anything else.  I sure hope y’all like the new look!! 🙂  I must admit I have been SUPER JEALOUS of everyone getting to wear their cozy Fall and Winter clothes already! 🙁  It’s been close to 90 degrees just about everyday so I haven’t been able to break out any of my cute Fall outfits yet.  I have been wearing booties a lot though because I love them with just about anything!  But for “blogs sake” I have been sweating it out and doing a few fall photo shoots for you all.  This Antler Fringe Cardigan is a fave Fall/Winter sweater of mine!

This is probably the only time I’ve worn it anywhere besides work.  I usually pair it with black skinny jeans, a long sleeve black top and riding boots for a classier and more appropriate work look.  The look I created for this post was inspired by my vision of being on vacation sitting beside a blazing fire in a large mountain lodge… 🙂  Where do you go when the mountains are calling ? ? ?

3 Simple Steps to Finding the Perfect Fall Booties to Fit Your Lifestyle

IMG_7890 IMG_7897 img_9239 img_9374

img_9890 img_9771 img_9657 green Booties are my favorite go to shoes these days, so I want to help you find your perfect pair!  This list can be helpful for other items you are looking to purchase as well.  Some things on this list may come easier for certain personality types; but stay with me until the end and I assure you these 3 Simple Steps to Finding the Perfect Fall Booties to Fit Your Lifestyle will be well worth your time and money ($CHA-CHING$)!!! 🙂

||Step 1||  Make a “FILTER” list before you start shopping in stores or online. This will help narrow your search down so you won’t be tempted to look at a bunch of stuff you already know you don’t need and will help save time as well.

Example: Suede, Leather, Narrow, Wide-Width, Zipper, Round Toe, Heel Height, Casual, Dressy, Black, Tan

||Step 2|| Be “PATIENT” when shopping.  This is the one that some personalities will have the most trouble with (like my sister).  If there is one thing God gifted me with it’s patience and you better believe I’m thankful for it!  It helps keep me out of a whole lot of trouble…:)  Back on topic…DON’T, I repeat DON’T buy the first pair that you see and fall in love with if they DON’T fit your lifestyle!  They will end up in your closet instead of on your feet.  Also, be “PATIENT” about wearing them out and about as soon as you get them.  Try walking around in them in the store and “AGAIN” in your house. If you have a hard time walking in them in either place then you should take or send them back!

||Step 3|| Don’t “HESITATE” to pay a little more” to get what you really need and want the first time.  I especially believe this with shoes.  I always tend to splurge a little more on shoes because I truly appreciate a good quality, comfortable shoe.  I have also learned the hard way that you usually get what you pay for!  I wind up spending more money in the long run purchasing the less expensive item and not being satisfied, then purchasing the more expensive item as well.  You can however sell the ones that you aren’t pleased with, but it’s not always easy, and can be very time consuming.  It is also rare that you get back what you paid for them!

Also, don’t hear me say that I don’t ever purchase inexpensive shoes, but if I do I always make sure that they are quality.  I also look for sale and clearance items when possible.  T.J. Maxx, Ross Dress for Less, and Amazon are three  of my favorite places to look for inexpensive name brand shoes.

I hope you will incorporate these 3 Simple Steps in your bootie purchasing future and in all other purchasing areas as well.  And, don’t forget to Have a Happy Fall Y’all!!! 🙂

Jewel Up A Casual Tunic

img_9272 img_9264 img_9262 img_9274 img_9275 img_9269 img_9268 img_9255 img_9254

I found this casual button down tunic at a store call Dirt Cheap.  I think I paid $3.00 for it.  I thought it was a dress when I purchased it and didn’t realize it was a tunic until I got home and tried it on.  No big deal though, I still like it!  I envisioned wearing this with light pink suede heels of some sort but this was another one of my “had to improvise” outfits.  I think it turned out pretty good.  But, that’s just my opinion I realize. 😉  My sister did not however think it was all that great! Hehe…;)

I normally wouldn’t pair such a casual outfit with such gaudy jewelry but for some reason it just works in this case. It kinda reminds me of something a rodeo girl would wear.  It’s pretty casual chic in my opinion and I think the colors in the outfit and jewelry compliment one another very well.  The colors in the jewelry are soft but they also add the perfect hint of glimmer to really make the outfit stand out.

*I would wear this outfit during Spring and Fall and think it would be very cute with a cardigan or denim jacket.

What are your thoughts on this outfit?  Is this a hit or a total fail???
